The MATES Steering Board meeting took place from 14-16 April 2020. The meeting kicked off with a welcome introduction by project coordinator, Lucía Fraga (CETMAR).
The first day focused on updates of the project activities under each of the work packages followed by an update of the Pilot Experiences. Several of the Pilot Experiences have been launched and partners have been working very hard delivering the various training courses and initiatives.
On Wednesday, the group was joined by Project Officer Vyte Ezerskiene (European Education and Culture Executive Agency) and Any Kontoudakis (DG MARE) who commended the partners on the amount of work being carried out and the relevancy to the European Pact for Skills. In recent months MATES has been providing input into the Offshore Renewable Energy Pact for Skills and has mobilised relevant European stakeholders. MATES also aims to provide important input into the Shipbuilding Pact for Skills.
On the final day, partners focused on the knowledge transfer strategy implemented across the project which aims to support the sustainability of the project outcomes. Before a final wrap up by the project coordinator, the partners brainstormed ideas to involve stakeholders in the critical review of the Pilot Experiences to ensure that the project outputs are robust.
Overall, the sessions were very informative and engaging. There is a lot of exciting work going on and the partners will be very busy over the coming months. While the next partner meetings are being scheduled for later this year, MATES partners look forward to meeting again in person.
